New Castlevania titles will have no help from Hideo Kojima this time around, as MercurySteam will be on their own

Well this is a big slap in your face. According to a piece at GamersHub today, it seems that Dave Cox who is the head of Konami game development in Europe, and producer of the first Castlevania Lords of Shadow a while back, has told them that Kojima Productions will play no role in aiding the production of Lords of Shadow 2 OR the next portable Castlevania game Mirror of Fate either. This might be disturbing since Hideo Kojima did play a small role in Lords of Shadow and won't be participating in the next one. Let alone Mirror of Fate.

This could either be good or bad, depending on the direction that the Castlevania game series is headed. Some think it will be a disaster. Others can only speculate. One thing is certain, it has to get better rather than worse or people will lose faith from the whole mess. Lets hope that Konami game headquarters realizes that and comes through in the end.
